The Amazon Trail (Windows)
The 1994 Windows 3.x port of The Amazon Trail (1993), bringing the time-travelling river journey to the family Windows desktop.
About the game
MECC's 1994 Windows 3.x release of Amazon Trail kept the 1993 DOS gameplay, the canoeing up the Amazon, the time-jumps between centuries, the wildlife photography, the tropical illness, and adapted the front-end for the mouse-driven UIs of Windows 3.x.
The shipping medium switched from floppy to CD-ROM in many SKUs, allowing the soundtrack and voiced segments to be expanded slightly.
History
Released 1994, one year after the 1993 DOS original. Part of MECC's wider push to move its catalog from DOS onto Windows during the early-mid '90s family-PC boom.
