Amazon Trail II
A 1996 sequel that expanded Amazon Trail's time-travel narrative, photography minigame, and rainforest education with new historical figures and locations.
About the game
Amazon Trail II grew the original 1993 game in nearly every direction. The river journey is longer, the time-travel stops more numerous, the wildlife catalogue much larger. The photography minigame remains, but it now feeds a fuller compendium screen with detailed species notes.
Tropical-illness simulation, currency exchange at trading posts, and named historical encounters (from indigenous chiefs to 19th-century explorers) extend the educational scope without losing the resource-management spine that ties the Trail family together.
History
Released 1996 by SoftKey Multimedia (which had absorbed MECC's catalog the previous year). It shipped alongside a re-release of the original Amazon Trail and helped establish the spinoff line as a steady classroom staple through the late '90s.
